ICE Certification: Training, Experience, Credibility Training, Experience, and Credibility – all are necessary to encourage culturally-appropriate music in missions. That’s where ICE comes in – with motivation to get practical training in ethnomusicology, grow skillful with those tools in your experience on the mission field, and document your progress with a credible certification that opens further doors for you. These certifications are based on points gained from a variety of activities:
With EM Certification, you show you have met the high standards of
our Certification Committee, a distinguished panel of
ethnomusicologists. These EM professionals are committed to
establishing a credible standard for Christian missionary
ethnomusicology; those who wish to encourage cultural sensitivity
in the arts to support mission outreach. With your permission, we
will send press releases of your successful Certification to your
mission agency, newspapers, universities, and other organizations
you specify.
