ImageRob Baker - Rob is a member of Wycliffe Bible Translators and SIL and works as an ethnomusicologist in West Africa. He has run song-writing workshops throughout Togo and Benin and is preparing a thesis on the reclamation of traditional song genres for Christian worship. He has recorded new songs (Biblical and educational) in a variety of local languages and has also taught and given presentations on ethnomusicology in Benin, Togo and Mali. Dr. BenhamDr. John Benham - John is president of Music In World Cultures, Inc., a non-profit mission agency he founded in 1989 with a vision to merge of music and missions for the implementation of indigenous music in worship, discipleship, and evangelism. Since then he has worked with practicing ethnomusicologists, mission agencies and academic institutions to develop a curriculum described as the most complete of any Christian institution in the world. Stephen Benham - Steve is currently an Associate Professor of Music Education at Duquesne University (Pittsburgh, PA), where he teaches undergraduate and graduate courses in music education and string pedagogy. He is also an adjunct faculty member at Bethel University (St. Paul, MN), where he teachers courses in field research and Eastern European culture. Stephen holds degrees from the University of Minnesota (B.S.), the University of Michigan (M.M.) and the University of Rochester Eastman School of Music (Ph.D.).  Click here for details about his work in Ukraine.

DianneDianne B. Collard, M.A.; D.Miss - Dianne is an international speaker and writer who is committed to the embracing of all the arts and the artists in the experience of worship and mission. Her extensive doctoral research in Europe regarding the current role of the arts in the Church and the alienation of the artists enable her to speak with authority and passion.

Dianne and her husband have been missionaries since 1986, serving in over 40 countries while living in Europe. Her role is multi-faceted: preparing and directing the work of hundreds of missionaries; speaking at conferences throughout Europe, the U.S. and Mexico; and directing the department of worship and the creative arts for an organization training European church planters. imageJulisa Rowe (M.A., D.Miss.) is a dramatist under Artists in Christian Testimony. She and her husband are based in Nairobi, Kenya, where she teaches drama at Daystar University and serves as consultant and trainer in developing drama ministry for churches in Kenya and beyond. Her doctoral work focused on ethnodramatology and she is particularly interested in helping the worldwide church use their indigenous art drama forms to communicate Christ. imageFrank Fortunato - Frank is OM's International Music Director, coordinating Heart Sounds International, a ministry promoting indigenous worship through seminars, songwriting events, and recordings of non-western worship, mostly in the restricted parts of the world. Frank has completed graduate studies in ethnomusicology and is involved in teaching on global worship music as well as leading worship at a local church. She lived for a decade in northern Russia as well as a number of years in Alaska and Canada. imageJames Janzen has extensive experience in music education, church ministry and worship. Throughout the years he has taught choral and instrumental music at all levels from elementary through to college and worked in the church as minister of music and worship leader. His extensive conducting experience of Master Works ( such as Handel's Messiah, Mendelssohn's Elijah, Haydn's Creation, Schuetz's St. Matthew Passion) has highlighted the rich theological basis of these works. ImageJames R. Krabill - James has served for fourteen years as a Bible and church history teacher among independent churches in West Africa. While working with the Harrist Church in Ivory Coast he recorded and transcribed over 500 locally-composed songs in the Dida language. These were compiled into four hymn booklets for use in worship and literacy training and later became the subject of a PhD dissertation at the University of Birmingham (U.K.). Krabill is currently a Senior Executive at the Mennonite Mission Network.

PaulPaul Neeley - Paul’s studies include an M.A. (Ethnomusicology, Anthropology, Linguistics) and a Ph.D. in Ethnomusicology (ABD). He has worked in fifteen countries, including seven years in Ghana, and has taught ethnomusicology at various schools and seminaries. He is a member of Artists in Christian Testimony (ACT), Heart Sounds International (HSI), and consults with various mission agencies and churches. He has authored and edited a number of books and articles, produced recordings, and is heavily involved in multicultural worship.

Joyce ScottJoyce Scott - Joyce has been a missionary with Africa Inland Mission since 1961, based in Kenya for 28 years. In her last twelve years there she was assigned by the African Church to work with fourteen tribes across Kenya to encourage the development of the indigenous heart-music of each group for relevant worship, Scripture teaching and evangelism. She acted as catalyst for Song-making exercises in these fourteen language groups as well as encouraging the use of indigenous instruments, especially for evangelism. Byron Spradlin - Byron is President of Artists in Christian Testimony Int'l, an arts-missionary sending board. His areas of specialty are music, worship and the arts in missions, local church and church growth ministry. He has over 35 years experience in ministry as a worship leader, recording artist, production director, large church worship pastor, church planter, Senior Pastor, adjunct professor, strategist and teacher – in over 40 countries. He is a Master Certified Life-Coach for artists/culture-creatives. He is also the Worship Track Director for the Arab Baptist Theological Seminary, Beirut, Lebanon.
