Liberty University -

Liberty University offers two curricular options for the study and application of ethnomusicology.

  • The M.A. in Ethnomusicology is a 42-credit degree emphasizing four areas of study: Scholarship & Research, Skill Development, Ethnic Music Performance, and Application. The required residency consists of four one-week modular or intensive courses. These courses can be completed in one or more summers. All fall and spring courses are offered on line via distance education, so that students can take classes from the location of their service and make practical application of their studies to their unique situation.
  • An 18-credit Specialization in Ethnomusicology is available as a component in a variety of degree options, or as its own entity.
  • Students may also enroll in individual courses
