Global Christian Worship

Welcome!

Introduction to Enhanced CD

Thanks for joining us in this journey of discovery into worldwide worship music, and discovery of ways in which you can be involved.

There’s information on various “Mission Opportunities,” steps you can take to help the nations sing of God’s glory and goodness using their own musical resources. If you get really interested in the subject of music and missions, look under “Educational Opportunities” for study options. The third section has materials on global Christian worship and music, including articles and media. Some of it involves big hairy multi-syllabic words like “ethnodoxology” and some of it involves figuring out what biblical elements of worship should hold true in all cultures.

Each of the sponsoring organizations chose 1 or 2 songs representing how they are involved with global Christian music. Song styles range from samba to hard rock, from an upbeat Irish hymn to throat-singing in Mongolia. We hear Christian music from as far away as the San tribes of the Kalahari Desert and the cold peaks of Tibet. A few songs are in English, including a clarion call to open ourselves to be used by God, and a worship song born out of incredible suffering of a missionary in the Middle East. Be sure to read the information on each song, including lyrics and stories.

Using the CD

Note that you have to listen to the songs in an audio CD player, and read the enhanced content when you put your disc in the computer.
