About WEC International
Passionate to see Africans living in the fullness
of Christ, a 53-year-old man in questionable health set sail for the
heart of Africa in 1913. During the journey God told C.T. Studd that
his trip would not be merely for Africa; it would be for the whole
world. God kept His word. The tiny Heart of Africa Mission grew and
eventually became WEC International. Today WEC works in more than 75
countries.
WEC’s Aim is to share the gospel with as many of
the world’s unreached people as possible before Jesus returns. Our
primary objective is to gather believers into local church bodies
and lead them to spiritual maturity. Wherever God places us we
endeavor to motivate and train believers for cross-cultural service.
We also acknowledge our responsibility to demonstrate Christ’s
compassion to a needy world.
WEC is a multi-ethnic, multi-national and
multi-denominational family of more than 1700 members. We are bound
together by shared convictions, a desire to live a godly lifestyle
and an unwavering commitment to the Great Commission of Jesus
Christ. Our oneness in Him makes it possible for us to work together
as brothers and sisters. It compels us to accept each other
irrespective of gender, ethnicity, nationality or church
affiliation. It constrains us to care for the wellness of our entire
WEC family and calls for international cooperation with local and
national churches, and with other Christian agencies.
